Kids and Omega 3 NutraCleanse™

Ensuring your child receives a healthy daily dose of nutrients in her diet can be a daunting task. Generally speaking, kids tend to have very particular appetites, tastes, and opinions, and it doesn’t usually support a large serving of greens or grains!

We have mentioned this before (see here): the importance of a healthy diet rich in omega fatty acids and fibre is imperative for kids’ growing bodies and brain development.

Omega 3 NutraCleanse™ can help!

Our dry food product is a unique formulation of flaxseeds and mostly organic (locally sourced) ingredients to provide an excellent source of fibre and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. You can easily sneak Omega 3 NutraCleanse™ into many kid-approved meals and snacks so they can’t taste the healthiness (heaven forbid!) or have any reason to turn it down.

Here are 3 ways to sneak Omega 3 NutraCleanse™ in your child’s snacks and meals today:

Smoothies

Smoothies are a favourite snack choice for kids; probably for the slushy-like, fruity flavours that mask the taste of spinach and other healthy ingredients that were possibly added.

They’re great, because you can throw in whatever ingredients you have on hand, add some liquid, add some ice, and that’s it! There are tons of great recipes for smoothies out there that your kids will enjoy, and it’s so simple to increase the nutritional value of the smoothies by adding ⅓ cup of Omega 3 NutraCleanse™ to them.

Here’s a smoothie recipe from Angela Liddon (author of Oh She Glows) that mimics a chocolate milkshake:

Cheerful Chocolate Smoothie

Add to blender:

  • 2 cups of almond milk
  • ¼ cup avocado
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Very small pinch of fine-grain sea salt
  • 4-6 pitted medium Medjool dates, to taste
  • 4-6 ice cubes

Now add 1/3 cup of Omega 3 NutraCleanse™ (and possibly a splash more almond milk if it’s too thick), put the lid on the blender, and blend on high for 30 seconds. Serve immediately.

Kids’ Oatmeal

Kids love the soft, gooey goodness of oatmeal and it makes for a great breakfast or snack. Avoid buying the prepackaged and processed stuff though; you’ll want all the nutritional benefits of making up your own batch from scratch.

Our tried and true recipe for oatmeal is always a hit with the kids: add 1/3 cup oatmeal to 1 cup cold water in a pot with a dash of salt. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently. Turn heat down and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add 1/3 cup Omega 3 NutraCleanse™ and stir. Empty into bowl, and serve with honey and milk.

Baking for Kids

Do your kids like cookies? (Silly question, right?)

Our product can be hidden into the goodness of all kinds of baked goods. This is a great one for kids, because you can include them in the process of baking, and talk to them about the importance of following recipes and measuring out ingredients. Kids love to help out in the kitchen, so go ahead and start them while they’re young!

To make a healthier version of whatever you happen to be baking, just add Omega 3 NutraCleanse™! All you need to do is portion out some of the flour. If the recipe calls for one cup of flour, you can use ⅔ cup of flour and ⅓ cup of Omega 3 NutraCleanse. Give it a try in your next batch of chocolate chip cookies or banana muffins!

Sneaking our product into meals and snacks everyday will provide your children (and you) with essential nutrients that your body needs to stay healthy. To learn more recipe ideas or find out where you can purchase our product, feel free to visit our website.

High-Fiber Chocolate Zucchini Muffins with NutraCleanse™

Looking for a healthy, high-fibre, kid-friendly recipe that you can send to school with your kids?

Our adapted version of this awesome muffin recipe created by Natalie Browne of Kitchen, Uncorked is incredible. The muffins are low in sugar, totally vegan, and super high in both fiber and taste.

Fiber is SO important to one’s health. It’s essential to help keep digestive issues at bay, and is directly related to lowered blood pressure and lowered blood sugar. Fiber keeps your body regular, and plays an important role in digestive health and wellness.

Aside from raw and steamed fruits and vegetables, whole grains are a great addition to any child’s diet. (And yours!)

If you feel as though your child’s diet is lacking in fiber, NutraCleanse™ is a great supplement. It’s made with only five ingredients, and is incredibly high in not only fiber, but also vitamins and antioxidants.

And that’s where this yummy, high-fibre recipe comes in.

Finding a great recipe that’s healthy, fiber-rich, and nut-free is hard. So when you do find one, you have to get your kids on board! If the muffins aren’t sweet enough for your children, you can add semi-sweet chocolate chips to make them pack more kiddie punch.

So what are you waiting for? Start grating that zucchini, and away you go!

How to Use NutraCleanse™ in Your Holiday Baking

Planning on doing some holiday baking or making pancakes or cinnamon buns on Christmas morning? We have a way to make these yummy dishes healthier: use flax eggs instead of regular ones!

For those of us who are vegan, have high cholesterol, or perhaps just simply don’t have enough eggs to bake with, we have a surprise for you: you can make an “egg” with NutraCleanse™!

Nope—we’re not crazy. Eggs are binders, and when we use eggs in holiday baking, we do it to bind the ingredients together so that our food turns out the way we want it to: delicious.

There are typically two ways to make eggs with water. One involves chia seeds, and one involves ground flax seeds. Guess what NutraCleanse™ is made of? That’s right—over 90% of the ingredients is ground flax!

Here’s how to make flax eggs:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. NutraCleanse™ (or ground flax seeds)
  • 3 tbsp. Water

Method:

  1. Combine binder of choice and water.
  2. Stir together well, then set aside for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir once more, then add to baking in place of egg.

That’s it!

The next time you’re stuck for an egg or two while making banana bread, use NutraCleanse™ instead. Here’s our recipe for Vegan Banana Walnut Pancakes, using NutraCleanse™ in place of an egg, to create flax eggs.

Vegan Banana Walnut Pancakes: makes 4 large

Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 large banana, mashed
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp. NutraCleanse
  • 3 tbsp. water
  • 1 cup quinoa flour
  • 1/3 cup gluten-free rolled oats
  • 1 tsp. aluminum-free baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • ½ cup banana slices
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup

Method

  1. Whisk together non-dairy milk, mashed banana, and vanilla extract. Set aside.
  2. Combine NutraCleanse™ and water in small bowl to make your flax eggs, and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  4. Stir the NutraCleanse™ mixture once more, then add to the wet mixture.
  5. Incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet, and mix until just combined.
  6. Melt coconut oil in a non-stick pan (I use ceramic) over medium heat.
  7. Add about a half cup of the batter into the pan.
  8. Flip once bubbles have formed and popped (approximately 23 minutes per side).
  9. Top with fresh banana, walnuts, and syrup.

These pancakes are super easy and yummy to whip up for Christmas morning, and they’ll give your family a healthy head start to the day–because we all know Christmas day is full of indulgence!

4 NutraCleanse™ Camping Recipes

During the summer, many of us go camping, and when we do, it’s hard to find healthy camping recipes that also taste good and are practical. We want to play and party, and paying close attention to what foods we’re consuming usually becomes unrealistic. But that doesn’t mean you have to completely fall off the wellness wagon!

Here are 4 NutraCleanse™ camping recipes to try this summer (just remember to pack a metal rack for cooking over your fire!):

The NutraCleanse S’more

Yep! You read that right. Simply roast your marshmallow until golden brown and sticky. Roll it in NutraCleanse™, then gently scrape it off the roasting stick and onto a graham cracker with a piece of fair-trade dark chocolate. Add 2 slices of banana and another graham cracker to complete the s’more, and chow down.

You’re welcome.

Breakfast Oats and NutraCleanse

Using a heat-friendly dish, add oats, water, and 1/3 cup of NutraCleanse™. Stir together, cook over the fire, and eat yourself healthy. This is hands down the easiest way to incorporate our product into a meal often made while camping.

The Camping Yogurt Parfait

This classic snack has nothing on the camping version! Heat fruit over the fire, then remove and let cool to room temperature. Once cooled, stir into full-fat Greek yogurt along with a couple of tablespoons of NutraCleanse™. Top with some homemade granola, and enjoy!

Camp Fire Crumble

Line a heat-friendly dish with tin foil, then grease with coconut oil. Add fruit until dish is half full. Next, combine oats, ½ cup NutraCleanse™, coconut sugar, and extra coconut oil. Sprinkle mixture evenly over fruit, then place dessert over fire and let cook until bubbly. Remove and cool slightly, but serve hot.

So there you have it! 4 camping recipes that use NutraCleanse™. Please try them and let us know your thoughts! We’d love to hear from you, so be sure to leave a comment on this blog post, or find us on social media.

Happy camping this summer!

NutraCleanse™: What’s in a Brand?

There are many different companies who sell the same type of product. For example, you can purchase a brand-name item (like ketchup) and a generically-branded item (again, ketchup), and they are close to the same thing.

But although it costs a little more, most people still purchase the brand-name ketchup (Heinz–we’re talking to YOU). Why? Because it tastes better, and you trust the brand.

The same goes for NutraCleanse™. There are other products out there that are marketed as being exactly what our product is. But you know what?

They’re not the same.

NutraCleanse™ has a story; a 150-year Finnish history. Our product is pure and wholesome and has stood the test of time. We use only 5 natural ingredients, and we care about what our customers think. We go to great lengths to make sure our product is safe, effective, and marketed and branded properly.

Anyone can whip up a mixture of ground flaxseed, but our particular recipe is what makes NutraCleanse™ great—and our customers know that.

nutracleanse

When you purchase our product, please make sure it’s really us. Pay attention to how ‘NutraCleanse™’ is spelled, and look for the TM symbol. We want to ensure that our reputation stays intact as a fantastic food product, and doesn’t become tarnished by copycat makers and distributors. We want you to continue to use and enjoy NutraCleanse™ the way you have been for years, and we pride ourselves on creating a product that is unlike any other.

A superior product.

The next time you pick up a bag of NutraCleanse™, know that what you’re purchasing has a history of effectiveness and has contributed to improved health for over 150 years. Trust us—we want to be part of your wellness journey and know that you’re thriving in part because of our product.

We care about our customers.

Happy Holidays!
